The Bon-Ton Stores Holiday Comp Sales Fall

The Bon-Ton Stores reported Wednesday its comparable store sales for the nine-week holiday period ended Dec. 31, decreased 3.1%, in line with the company’s guidance provided on Nov. 17.

Total sales for the nine week November and December period were $752.1 million compared to sales of $784.4 million in the prior year period.

The company said it is maintaining its full-year guidance of a loss of $2.04 to $2.54 per share and a comparable sales decrease ranging from 2.5% to 3.5%; however, it expects full year results to be at the low end of the guidance range.
