Jacobs Wins Rail Microgrid Project

Jacobs Engineering Group, a professional services firm, said Wednesday that it has been selected by NJ Transit to provide design and general engineering services for its microgrid project.

Under the terms of the deal, the company will provide owners with engineering services including regulatory and economic advisory services, conceptual and preliminary design, procurement support, contract packaging and construction assistance.

The $577 million NJ TRANSITGRID project aims to implement a microgrid capable of providing power for core critical transit infrastructure support rail systems operated by NJ Transit.
